Roots, Sprouts & Happenings

An upstate New York Workplace and Training Center

For Unemployed post-9/11 Veterans

Here’s What You Need to Know:

AUV will hire and train unemployed post-9/11 veterans to hone their transferable skills and learn new in-demand skill sets during their transitions from combat service to homeland civilian society.

The staff, Veterans all, drive AUV’s corporate mission and Core Values; they “own” and manage the Workplace. They work hard and have fun, too.

At AUV’s Workplace, a community within-a community, teamwork, integrity, energy and intelligence are credentials for honorably discharged vets to earn living wages and benefits while training for new careers or entrepreneurial enterprises.

Roots, Sprouts & Happenings is in rural upstate New York, near educational, medical, recreational and social hubs. The landscape is beautiful, the soil fertile and village life lively.

Three or four Advocate-Managers define, direct and coordinate AUV’s programs, agendas, and curricula. Together, they maintain and preserve the property’s productivity, natural and financial resources and humanity. Additional Triads, three-person teams, working with the Advocates farm the land, host the guests, maintain the property, oversee livestock, sell the harvests, and participate in community reach outs. They also keep the admin stuff straight and the financial ledgers balanced. All the while, earning appropriate income as they learn.

AUV’s commitment is to provide life-renewing training and job opportunities, to train for our highly valued citizens to create new careers for themselves. We want to do it right. Let us know your thoughts.

The AUV Team.
