A group of injured veterans have proven that “once a hero, always a hero,” when they recently visited victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

The vets, are amputees and spent time at four Boston hospitals meeting about a dozen people who have lost one or both legs as a result of the attack, according to a local Boston news story.

“We felt as amputees compelled to get out here,” Captain Cameron West, a Marine who lost a leg in Afghanistan, told the reporter.

The vets said the bombing victims appreciated the visit, and we at AUV say “Thanks!” to these heroes who continue to inspire!
